Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the most loved gaming titles hands down of all time, and as the Star Wars franchise is back to its former glory of 70’s and 80’s, people want to experience more specific and lesser explored areas of Star Wars lore. Almost 200000 fans have petitioned to Disney via Change.org for an “Old Republic Era” TV series, and it seems like the executives at Disney and Netflix are taking note of it. According to the recent scoop from Hollywood Reporter, Ted Sarandos (Chief Content Officer) at Netflix had some initial talks on this subject with Disney, and there have been some proceedings. He even confirmed that they have few great scripts that they are going through now to see if an Old Republic era show would make sense at this point. Star Wars: Rebels, the on-going animated series has recently confirmed the existence of “Battle Of Mandalore” making all of the “The Old Republic” lore canon. There have been speculations that this was a cognizant move to make the Star Wars Netflix show a reality. With the success of Rogue One, we are confident that this show is going to happen soon, it is just the matter of time.
