2 Leda

The initiative that leads to the development of a line of female clones is named Project Leda. All the clones that were developed under this project were unaware of their clonage, except for Rachel Duncan, who was raised by the lead scientists of the project. The name Leda finds its origins in a great Greek myth, in which a daughter of a king is raped or seduced by God Zeus in the form of a swan. The same night she also sleeps with her mortal husband and eventually gives birth to two eggs. One of the eggs contains the mortal Castor and Clytemnestra while the other egg contains the divine Pollux and Helen. This Greek mythology is named Leda and the Swan.

3 Sarah And Helena

The clone Helena in the show is named after Helen of Troy and just like her, she too, seems immortal and very difficult to kill. Just like Helen of Troy, Helena too has a twin sister named Sarah. The name Sarah may have been inspired from Sarah of the Old Testament. Sarah of the Old Testament was considered to be infertile, yet she had a son eventually. Similarly, the clones too were developed to be infertile, yet Sarah has a daughter Kira and Helena too has fertile eggs in her.
